Wrought Iron and Aluminum Fences in Colorado

Wrought iron and aluminum are the ornamental metal fence styles. The companies below say on their websites or Maps listings that they install them.

Front yards carry the tightest height limits. Denver and Colorado Springs both cap front-yard fences at 4 feet, and Denver allows 6 feet behind the front of the house. Colorado Springs measures height to the top of posts and finials, and posts spaced at least 8 feet apart may rise 12 inches higher. Denver requires a zoning permit for any fence over 4 feet, and every fence on a landmark site, in a historic district or along a designated parkway needs a permit whatever its height.

Metal posts go into the ground, so contact Colorado 811 at least three business days before digging. Ask whether the fence and gates are built to order or from stock panels, and whether the company installs gate hardware.
